Recently my neighbor asked me to share my testimony of Joseph Smith in one sentence for a video he was making. I really didn’t want to because I really don’t like being filmed, but considering Mormon Women Stand also encouraged me to share my testimony of the prophet right around the same time, it was a good opportunity to ponder and record my thoughts. After waiting about a week to see the finished video, I was pleased with how well it turned out! I think you’ll enjoy it, too. After watching this, the words of Praise to the Man stuck in my mind, and I felt such gratitude toward Joseph Smith for all that he did for us. I love knowing that others share the same feelings and respect toward Joseph Smith that I have.
Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah!
Jesus anointed that Prophet and Seer.
Blessed to open the last dispensation,
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.
Since I happen to know the creator of the video, I thought readers might be interested to know a little more about him along with his testimony of Joseph Smith and why he wanted to create this video. Andrew Cengiz grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and studied film at the University of Utah. In 2010 he married Gina Nickl, also a film major. They have one darling 3-year-old daughter; in fact, she’s the little one who shares her testimony in this video.
Andrew desires to share his testimony of the restored gospel through video and film and wants people to know there is peace of mind and soul readily available in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He knows that Joseph Smith helped restore the means to more fully access that peace. Andrew said the idea for the video initially came when he heard the music which is featured in the video. He was actually looking for music for another project, but when he heard this song, all he could think about was the First Vision. He realized how powerful it would be to add testimonies from people he knew, along with some pictures and clips from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ website. Andrew hopes his video will reach those ready and looking for the gospel.
